Description of Options
One hour sail - See Rockland's interesting working waterfront, out to the lighthouse and back, boats, harbor seals.
Two hour sail - Into Penobscot Bay, by Rockland Breakwater and Owls Head lighthouses, Camden Hills & island views.
Three & Four hours - Long enough to really relax and do something, depending on the day, go around an island, head over to see some seals, schooners, or head for the open sea.
Five & Six hours up to all day - Flexible trips, able to get to an island for a hike, or a picnic, time at an island beach, get across the bay and back, custom adventures.
Lobsterbakes - We usually go around Owl's Head and down the Muscle Ridge Islands to land on an uninhabited island and cook the freshest lobster and local corn to accompany homemade salads and pies. Depending on the tide, we tie up to a historic quarrying island or land on a beachy island, or possibly both for a hike/eat/sail combo! This is an 7-8 hour trip usually. Often we meet up with an island-living boat girl who digs clams, hauls lobsters, grows salads, and makes biscuits, pies, and other treats, all with her young child in tow. (Mainstay Provision Co) Portland Press Herald did an article about her.
Night sails - Awesome stars, great moon. Sometimes the water shimmers with phosphorescence as it moves by the boat.
Custom Departures - I can meet you in North Haven, Vinalhaven, Camden, Rockport, Owls Head, Sprucehead, etc. at town landings or at your own dock. I can also bring you one way to any place you want, contact me for details of pricing.
