Well, it's August now, and I seem to be busy almost all the time these days, having 10 and 12 hour days on the water, and still enjoying it! Had four days in a row where I had three generations aboard, and I got to take an 80 year old man out who'd never been on a sailboat the other day. He'd worked at Catapillar hisworking life, and could not get enough of the fresh air, and even a little salt spray, that he found on the bow. His family had booked a five hour charter, and for five hours (maybe more once he got ashore) he beamed the biggest smile I've seen in a long time, his ears were just about bruised from the corners of his mouth! What fun to share. Now the zoo of Lobsterfest has descended upon Rockland, and had an interesting mix of a couple from near Bangor, down for a sail, a good meal, and a show, and a California couple passing through on their RV.
Captain Daniel Bennett rebuilt Bufflehead, maintains and sails her, sharing the experiences and the delights of sailing her with all who come aboard, and maybe here with others too.
